Fort Lauderdale based investment banking firm Farlie Turner & Co. has announced that Steven B. Zuckerman has joined the firm as director of its newly formed Special Situations Group. The division will provide investment banking, capital raising and financial advisory services to middle market companies experiencing financial difficulties, ranging from underperforming to significantly distressed businesses. The Special Situations Group will be complementary to Farlie Turner’s existing investment banking practice, which focuses on serving growth-oriented middle market companies.
Prior to joining Farlie Turner, Zuckerman founded Innovo Capital, LLC, a principal investment group formed to facilitate an acquisition of a distressed lower middle market company. He remains the Managing Partner of Innovo Capital and a director of its portfolio company. Prior to Innovo Capital, Zuckerman was an attorney with the nationally recognized law firm of Berger Singerman, where he specialized in representing financially distressed businesses, bankruptcy trustees and investors in connection with the purchase and sale of distressed companies and assets. Before joining Berger Singerman, Zuckerman was Vice President of Business Development and General Counsel for a high-growth technology company.
Twice recognized as a member of Florida Trend’s Legal Elite “Up and Coming” attorneys, Zuckerman has authored several published articles on various restructuring topics, and is also the founder of Leaders of Tomorrow. He earned a B.A. with honors from Boston University and a J.D. with honors from University of Miami School of law.
